ARTICLE I
Name
The name of this organization shall be Genesee Valley Sock Machine Club (GVSMC) and its principal office shall be in Rochester, NY.
ARTICLE II
Purposes
The purpose of this club shall be:
SECTION 1 To provide an organization for owners and operators of antique knitting machines or sock machines.
SECTION 2 To encourage the preservation, restoration, and use of antique knitting machines.
SECTION 3 To aid in the education of members and the public about the history of antique knitting machines through shared teaching experiences and demonstrations at various fiber arts shows and festivals or at regular meetings planned by the members.
SECTION 4 The club shall be non-commercial, non-sectarian, and non-partisan.
ARTICLE III
Members
SECTION 1 REQUIREMENTS. Requirements for membership shall not insist upon the actual possession of a knitting machine. An interest in the purposes of the club and a desire to take an active part in club activities shall be the primary requirement for membership.
SECTION 2 DUES. The dues payable by members shall be $20.00 for the first year of membership, and $10.00 per year for the following years. Dues for current members of CSMSA shall be $20.00 for the first year and $4.00 per year for the following years.
ARTICLE IV
Meetings of Members
SECTION 1 ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the members shall be held on a date determined by the members. The purpose of said meeting shall be the election of officers and the transaction of such other business as may come before the meeting.
SECTION 2 Meetings of the members shall be held when needed for the purpose of transacting business.
SECTION 3 QUORUM. The requirement for a quorum shall be met if any three of the elected officers and three regular members are present. If a quorum is not present at any meeting of the members, a majority of the members present may adjourn the meeting from time to time without further notice.
